Maximum torque per ampere and maximum power per ampere sliding mode control for interior permanent magnet synchronous motors

This paper presents novel maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) and power (MPPA) sliding mode control (SMC) approaches for interior permanent-magnet synchronous motors (IPMs). We first derive the first-order SMC methods to improve field-oriented control's resiliency against external perturbations, extraneous noise modelling uncertainties. After that, we propose higher-order significantly reduce chattering phenomenon, which is inherent in method. Based on comparison studies, conventional proportional-integral-derivative based field oriented shows sluggish response more sensitive parameter perturbations disturbances. By introducing methods, both speed regulation performance of permanent magnet motor can be greatly improved. Computer simulation studies have demonstrated superior controllers applications.
